Wedding invitations give the first impression of your wedding to your guests. Whether you DIY them or hire someone to design and create them for you, keep in mind that they give your guests the feel for your wedding. Below is a list of things to consider when creating your wedding invitations.
1. Incorporate your wedding colors. This way, when your photographer photographs them the day of, they will go well with your florals and other decor. It also lets the guests know what your wedding colors will be.
2. If there's something important your guests need to know, make sure to add it in the invitation suites. It's also a good idea to add your wedding website on them. Add a QR code for your guests to easily access your website!
3. Your invites can be as casual or as elegant as you wish, just remember that you want it to reflect your wedding. If you are having an elegant wedding, make sure your invites reflect that.
i.e. Addressing married couples as Mr. and Mrs for formal weddings.
4. Don't forget to keep an extra invitation set for your photographer the day of! If you are trying to save money on your invitations, but still want the extravagant look for your photographs, opt to spend a little extra on one set of invitations for photographs the day of. This could be a custom map of the area you're getting married in, adding wax stamps with dried floral, or vellum wraps--whatever you want to do to spice them but, but don't necessarily need to add to every invite you send out.
